I HOPE ELTON BRAND DIES!

Last week I wrote about the Los Angeles Clippers' future looking brighter because a certain Superstar Player expressed how much he loved the City and wanted to stay here and raise his children. He opted out of his current contract and was gonna take less money so that his team can go out and make more potential season saving free agent signings. All great stuff. Elton Brand who's already considered a great guy around the NBA community would've gone down as an 'LA Messiah' if everything would've gone down according to plan, and it looked well on it's way with the signing of Superstar guard and LA's own Baron Davis. But then...

Elton didn't consider that he was widely regarded as a Superstar Player and that other teams with more money would notice that's he's a Free Agent and would offer more than the Clippers to sign him. Maybe he didn't expect the greediness deep down in his heart to come bursting out with avengence. So of course, you know where the story is going. Elton Brand announced tonight that he's going to sign a contract with the Philadelphia 76ers. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 5 years/$82 million. Almost as cliche'd as a Kobe Bryant postgame one liner, another player is going against his word and running for a bigger paycheck! And not even to a much better team. Yes, the Sixers are better on paper right now, but if he would've stayed with Baron, who knows how good they could've been together. Plus the aftershocks of this could have Baron decide not to officially sign the Clippers contract next week when Free Agents are allowed. It's only a verbal agreement now. We'll see if he's a bigger man than Elton.

All in all, even without Brand on the team, I still have reasonably high hopes for the Clippers this year. Yes they would've been way better with him, but we don't need a another shitty character in LA, we have enough of those. Die, Elton!
